Community Support for Continuing Education
The Ed Posh Scholarship Fund provides financial support for local high school graduates seeking to continue their education. Every year since 1995, four or five deserving local students have received Ed Posh Scholarships to attend college or career educational institutions.
The Fund seeks to award at least four new scholarships each year, with each scholarship providing $10,000 in financial support over a four year period. In 2009, the fund awarded five new scholarships, bringing to 18 the number of Ed Posh Scholars currently in school. Along with 40 Scholars who have already graduated, the Fund has provided $387,000 in scholarships to 58 local students.
Founded to honor the contributions of Ed Posh over 29 seasons as the Head Professional at Village Links of Glen Ellyn, Ed Posh Scholarship Fund Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, operated entirely by unpaid volunteers from the community. Its success depends on the generosity of local individuals and businesses, the efforts of a small group of volunteers, and the enthusiastic participation of community members in the Ed Posh Scholarship Shootout and other fund raising events.
